BAV Revoked Rev. Moses Chin as Archdeacon

In an email to all the clergy today, Bishop Albert Vun revokes Rev. Moses Chin as an Archdeacon effective 1 December 2013. Rev. Moses Chin, who was on vacation, learned this news via email. What prompted this drastic decision against one of the Diocese’s most senior clergymen? While BAV insisted his announcement was not for “unhealthy speculation or discussion”, the absence of any good reasons creates precisely that. Is that what BAV wants to achieve at the end of the day? Does it have anything to do with the upcoming election of the next Bishop? While none of us know for certain what’s being churned in BAV’s mind, it is clear that he continues to be unkind even in his last days.

Here is the email from BAV:

Dear Clergy and Pastors

My following announcements is for your information and not for any unhealthy speculation or discussion :

1.  God willing, I will be making Rev Jon Shuler of the New Anglican Missionary Society as one of our Canon Missioners on the 19th January 2014

2. God willing, I will be making Rev Lin Khee Vun a Canon occupying St Patrick’s Stall in the Cathedral on the 19th January 2014

3. Effective 1st December 2013, I have revoked my appointment of Rev Moses Chin as Archdeacon. I will not be making any Archdeacon until I have clergy ready and able for the duties. I thank Rev Moses for his service over the years.

In Christ
Bishop Albert Vun
Bishop of Sabah

I am completely speechless and numb at the news! To put it bluntly, has the cancer cells finally taken control of his mental facaulty? Not for speculation? How can it not be?

  2. Saints

The Satan strike again. Is BAV ending his abusive career with his latest stupidity & very ill conceived actions by revoking our very much beloved Rev.Moses Chin of the Archdeaconship ?
In his sickness & few weeks to live in planet earth BAV still find great strength to strike venoms with God’s very faithful servant.
A very sad day for all Anglicans in Sabah.

  3. onlookers

It is time for ALL members of COG , Sandakan to voice out ! We dare BAV to put down similar statements as ” God willing………. BAV is definitely working out of a Christian ‘s conscience .

    • Serve you right

COGS, you had your chance to stand behind former AD Moses Chin to put things right when things were so wrong. You kept quiet and tried to play safe. Many priests, parishes and PCC knew what was the right thing to do but no guts. So God allowed this mad bishop to stepped all over you all. Wise thinking will see it coming ever since Ps Margaret Chong was being shelved out of Ranau almost in an instance. Well, are you all going to rise and do the right thing or conveniently use the lame excuse of just let God be God.

  4. Confused and sad

How true is this? I really wanna know. I looked up to Rev/former – Archdeacon Moses Chin for many years of my life

  5. I must increase .Christ decrease.To Moses"I have revoked""I will not"" Until I have""I thank"

“Do you not know that you are God’s temple? If anyone destroys God’s temple. God will destroy that PERSON”

Albert, you are that person. Many discern Rev M Chin is “a Friend of God” & the “Apple of God’s eyes ” “One who touches you touches the apple of my eyes, See now, I am going to raise my hand against them” Zec 2’8

Turn away from wicked plots! Do not allow consuming jealousy to destroy the church.God wants your broken heart. May you have no peace, no rest & no sleep until you humbly return to the Almighty in repentance.

  6. Mad Sailor

I think that in the absence of any valid explanation, all speculation and discussion can be defined as healthy. Is there anyone who will not interpret his move against Moses Chin as a pre-emptive strike against the only senior member of clergy in the Diocese who might be able to repair all that has gone wrong in recent years becoming Bishop?
And what is this role for Jon Shuler and NAMS? What discussion has taken place at synod level or elsewhere to agree this alignment with the so-called Anglican Church of North America?

  7. What a sad day

Has AV got mad? Rev.Moses Chin is most loved by all of us even though he ministers in Sandakan and we are in KK.What has Moses Chin done to deserve this treatment dished out by the evil bishop!! This is also the last straw and we just can’t stomach this sort of injustice! I hope this will open the eyes of all Anglicans especially HOB and those whom Dean Chak said ‘supporters of AV’ No wonder Dean Chak has to go along with AV otherwise his Deanship will also be revoked. Please Rev.Moses,do not resign, stay on.AV wants you to go and this is his evil motive!

    • Richard

“Has AV got mad?” … that was my first response on reading this information. It is quite a possibility. Perhaps he needs a brain scan!

      • UNCERTAINTIES?

Is it possible that the cancer cells from the pancreas could have spread rapidly through the blood circulation to the brain already? If so, perhaps, that could affect the person mentally and make him mentally unfit to carry out his duties and responsibilities properly?

  8. Very angry member

This must be BAV last moment. I have never seen or heard of any bishop in his right mind will do such a distructive thing to destroy the diocese unity. How evil can this man be if he is not from the devil himself. This is absolutely not from God. I am a good friend of Rev Moses and I have never hear him said anything bad about BAV neithet will he allow me to say anything bad about BAV. I wish I am not a Christian so that I can curse BAV to be strike lighting. This dying man still wanted absolute control of the diocese. No matter which cronies he put to replace him there will nevet be peace and unity in the diocese, unless there is absolute changes. Only the devil want to create disunity and destroy God’s Church and BAV IS DOING IT. If he is not devil who is?

    • Bell

What has our beloved archdeacon moses chin done to deserve such humiliation from this ungodly person ? Even in his dying days he is still so evil. I am so sad that we have such a leader in our diocese. Christmas is around the corner, a time to forgive and repent and yet this man is asking for war. With Bav around I believe they will be no peace.

  9. Anglican brother @ Singapore

    Well, what a shocker.

Since he said he is bishop, he has the prerogative, he can suka suka do. No one can stop him except God.

Remember Stalin cursed God in his final breath, so why surprised dying people can continue do evil things?

I see this incident (speculate saja):

    1. Consolidation of his power and control in ADOS, meaning all high posts will be awarded to his lieutanents.

    2. Possible fastracking one crony to be Archdeacon in future. Any guesses who?

    3. Denied ASC ppl request to have Moses Chin to be Dean of ASC since they desired it. Means Chak position is secured with no challenger.

    4. Shock and awe tactic: Razed whole ADOS to the ground before he bye bye.
Like Emperor Nero fiddled while Rome burns.

    • a dove

The Truth, I’m not connecting the dots at all! Who’s this Rev. Jon Shuler and what has NAMS got to do with us here in Sabah? What sinister motive is likely behind this appointment? You mentioned the revocation of Archdeacon Moses Chin’s (he still is an archdeacon, as far as I’m concerned) status is to pre-empt his possible challenge to the election of bishop. Does it mean that only a person of an archdeacon position can be nominated for the election of bishop?

      • TheTruth

In short, Jon Shuler, Moses Tay and BAV are all buddies in the same circle. Moses Tay helped BAV to remained as Bishop of Sabah, BAV helped Moses Tay’s cause in NAMS by appointing Jon Shuler as Canon and provide some kind of legitimacy/covering to NAMS. This may have nothing to do with Moses Chin removed as an Archdeacon, but it points to a buddy-buddy system at the top and possible conflict of interests by Moses Tay and BAV. How can Moses Tay do an impartial job as a facilitator when he needs a favour from BAV?

As for Moses Chin, he is a strong candidate to be the next Bishop. In fact, he along with Dean Khoo, Lidis Singkung and Albert Vun were candidates for Bishop 7 years ago. Dean Khoo was forced out of the Diocese; Lidis, another senior clergy, is in cold storage leading a church in Tenom; and Moses Chin, overlooked in Assistant Bishop appointments and now removed as an Archdeacon. You don’t have to be an Archdeacon to be made Bishop. Only God knows the heart of BAV. This move may well backfire on BAV’s plans/plots.

  10. Mrs.Cheuk

I feel that I must write something about Moses being his former teacher in St.Agnes’ years ago.Moses Chin had been a very good student during his school days, both in studies and in behaviour as well as in the sport field and I am very proud of him when he made his choice by becoming a priest. He came from a rich family and he could do very well in the corporate world but he chose to become a priest! He really is one of the rare ones who has the calling and has all the qualities of a priest. From my observation of him during the trying time of our church now,I have noticed Moses is very patient, humble, caring and concentrates doing God’s work in his church and pastoring his sheep without any complaints from them. When I read about the archdeacon post of Moses having revoked,my heart breaks,I am at a loss why AV did this sort of thing to a God fearing man like Moses. What has he done? AV just can’t demote a person as when he feels like it! Wasn’t Moses anointed by God to be the archdeacon or only AV the ‘anointed one’? AV being the ‘anointed one’ has the prerogative to do anything he likes even demoting Moses a God fearing man just because he now does not find favour with Moses??

  11. The Watcher

This man is a sicko. In all my 58 years as an anglican I have never seen a man so vengeful and wicked and coming from a B-I-S-H-O-P. In his dying days he still want to inflict so much pain and hurt against the bride of Christ. He thinks the Church belongs to him. Watch this….

  12. Anonymous

All Anglicans in Sabah consider this as a very serious offence of AV. With utter disregard and arrogance he is piling up his wrongdoings. Dear Mr. Truth, can you please spare your valuable time to list out all AV’s misdeeds and misuse of Diocesan funds during his tenure as Bishop in a separate blog. This will serve as a Reference Blog for old and new followers of your truth blogs. God bless you.

  13. Wenny ong

av, You don’t have to thank Archdeacon Rev.Moses Chin for the years of service. He is NOT working for you.
I am pretty sure this type of title has no bearing at all as far as our Archdeacon is concerned. You will not be appointing any archdeacon until you find someone ready and able, do you mean Archdeacon Rev.Moses Chin is not able then why did you appoint him in the first place and stripe him when there is not one ready and able. Are you really sick?

  14. disheartened

May be MC might be the next bishop. Didn’t king saul try to eliminate David? No worries as God’s plans cannot be thwarted. Be patient MC.

  15. KK

This goes to show how much wrong the HOB has done not to listen to the sheep but to listen to only their man of the same feathers in spite of finding him guilty of so many offences by the PAC.Where is the repentance, reconciliation and instead full of vengeance ! HOB has no match with AV. As long as he still lives and if the constitution is still not changed,he still has the prerogative to do what he wants and we are all helpless!

  16. sage2000

BAV is not sick in his mental faculty. He is strategising. He is removing all the senior priests who are not supporting him as far away as possible so that they have less chances of being in the senior post of the diocese when he die. Then they will not be in a position to continue with the investigation of the wrong doings he has committed. BAV has done too much wrongs and need to keep them locked up. If his cronies are in these senior positions they will not dig up all these things. So he is mind is still very clear. He is looking after his own interest and not of the church or diocese, thats all. Then what he is doing becomes very clear.

    • Mustard seed.

Vun Chong Fui has always been a mentally very very sick, evil & deceptive person.
In his persuit for the Bishop post in 2006, he strategised & make his manipulative
moves to secure full supports from the Yong brothers.
To cling & secured his power base before the crisis, he too strategised & makes all the slippery moves by making life unbearable for some Clergy who does not dance to his musical tunes. Those who refused to relent were been humilated in Clergy conferences or subjected to be transfers at his whim & fancy. In his sadistic instint, all resigned Clergy must moved out of their living quarters by sunset, comes storm or shine.
He implemented divide & rules policy to divide all the staff & Clergy. He encouraged tell tales among the Clergy. Fyi, Stella Lo is the champion mother of tell tales.
After the investigation of our crisis with VCF found guilty of 38 out 40 complaints, VCF makes his
manipulative moves by making Bolly compromising his spiritual principles by donating RM 50k to
      Kuching Diocese.
He also manipulated the constitutions to suits all his agendas. His latest actions speaks volumes how sadistic sick is VCF.
May God have mercy upon VCF & binds all his evil intends.

    • puzzle

BAV is building his evil kingdom before his very last day. How could this monster be elected as a bishop in the first place!

      • Rev

AV is not the winner during the Election of the New Bishop a few years ago. What may happened to us today is the result of the wrongdoings of our leaders who bypass the will of God through the election. I want everybody know this matter so that in the future we must uphold the will of God instead of uphold the will of human beings. Please no more race discrimination of who is become the next bishop.

      Sage 2000
Totally agreeable to what u hv said. But men’s evil plots will fail in the end n IF BAV is really guilty,
do u think God will heal him? Or is it bcos bav knows God will not help him as Bav has no intention of confessing n repenting at all? NO ONE gets away fr the sins they hv commited n all shall b judge accordingly.AMEN.

  17. member

Have you all noticed,AV used I all the time in his letter? So important is his I and he acts as God.He can ordain you and he can fire you if you are not his cronies. I suppose this is his way of putting the diocese in order before he dies and we have been wrong along. We thought he would reveal all his properties under his name, repent, reconcile etc,etc and this is what we get!

  18. onlookers

Members of COGS Sandakan are 100% supporting Moses Chin. BAV is sick and therefore we SHOULD NOT take sickening instructions from him anymore!

    • Clement

Not ONLY COGS but also DOS are indeed with Rev.Moses Chin! Moses, I hope you will remain strong in the face of such adversity but you are NOT alone…from Clement in KK…

  19. Hallucinating on dope.

You know when push comes to shove, AV’s action is challengeable in court ? How can a person who is pumped up with pain killing morphine and fortnightly dosed on chemo cocktails can have a sound mind ? If for any reasons JY or MT has gained a clear way in replacing AV, the story does not end there. We will challenge AV’s current actions in court.

  20. AS Anon

Honestly, I was shocked and sad when I learnt of Albert’s cancer. And within me now, I am even more shocked and sad to hear of this action. I do not want Albert to die, for his sake, his family’s and his mother’s sake, but not so he can continue to do things like this. To me, this is a clear repositioning to try to make sure the future leadership after him remains of the BAV mould.

Even the condescending tone of the email is sad. He was writing to the clergy, yet it sounded more like a haughty Education minister writing to a Primary 1 class … “it is not for you to question or talk, just get on with what you are told to do …” And he invokes the name of Christ to seal the email …
    —-
Moses, I say this openly, I hope you do not take this as a slap. This has come from one man, but I suspect a good 90+% of the diocese rank and file are right behind you. Don’t give in to men, it is GOD whom you have been serving, and it is to Him you have made your vow. Like Samuel, you practically grew up and spent most of your days in ASC, and not only God but many people have seen how you have dedicated your life to serving Him in the Anglican church. You may well soon be called into the most difficult position yet, but you will have God and the people with you. May God give you His all-sufficient grace at this time.

    • Augustina t

Dear Moses Chin, remember u must b strong n steadfast in yr faith.Dont give up when there is ‘ persecution’ fr your OWN SO CALLED CHRISTIAN BROTHER. U hv been just, humble, God fearing n impartial n this is what u get but U will b rewarded by our FATHER in heaven.Dont store earthly treasures like many n yet in the end, God can take away every bit of it.May God bless n keep u stronger to fight for Him.

  21. joshuakong823

Quote from his email announcement —
    “In Christ
    Bishop Albert Vun
    Bishop of Sabah”

he is very very sick in mind and not in “pancreas” as Bishop is used twice here and his identity is gone with inferiority complex..

  22. Focus

Albert Vun, the narrow-minded man , is again widely condemned for making his dying wish to pave way for his inner circle of loyal followers.

He, without giving any reason to support his evil act, had revoked his appointment of Rev Moses Chin as the archdeacon. Would his decision help alleviate his fear of the challenge from Rev Moses Chin? Would Rev Moses Chin jeopardise his position?

The Diocese will sink deeper into the mire of crisis merely because of this dying man’s evil character.

  23. Peter

With such ill conceived strategies and plot, definitely they will pump up a lot of speculations and discussions. These are inevitably not ‘ God willing ‘ but ‘ Satan willing ‘ by AVCF. We do not know how much Rev. Jon Shuler knows about the mountain of problems created by AVCF as Bishop of ADOS. If Rev. Jon Shuler is a clear thinking and good conscience God’s shepherd he
will definely decline this canonship appointment. Likewise, Rev. Lin Kee Vun needs to take a close look of all the ADOS chaotic situation and make a firm stand whether it is appropiate to accept this canonship appointment engineered by AVCF to fulfill his
conceited satanic deeds. Hope Rev. Lin Kee Vun will not fall into the trap. God Willing, will not do such uncalled for action to
Archdeacon Moses Tay, without any good ground or reason. God have mercy on ADOS.

  24. Former SPC member

As a former member of St. Patrick’s Church, I used to be proud of Bishop Albert Vun. I didn’t buy all the rumours about his mismanagement and abuse of power. As this crisis unfold, I cannot believe what I am seeing before my eyes. Demoting Moses Chin without valid reasons makes me wonder if Bishop Vun has lost all decency and godliness as a Christian. He is behaving like a mad tyrant like King Herod, Pharoah in Exodus, Kind Saul. These characters ended sadly and Bishop Vun seems to be heading towards such tragic ends too.

  25. Sabah Anglican

If AV is ”in Christ” he will not do all these evil things that he has done and who knows what he will do within these 2 months as people heard that he told them he has only 2 more months to live!! More like as he approaches death he is ” in Satan” !Why would AV want to ordain Rev.Jon Shuler? He is an American and he lives in America. and has nothing to do with the Sabah diocese? I agree, that Rev.Lin, should think many times before he allows himself to become a canon and be ordained by a person with a satanic touch! Why is it that some of our clergies even at this stage are still so blind to AV’s actions. Are you all blinded by the devil? Stand up for Jesus and not Satan!

    • Mad Sailor

I think that the Diocese as a whole has the right to know more about John Shuler and what the role of “Canon Missioner” involves. Is this a purely honorary role? I understand from the Diocesan website that there is already one Canon Missioner – George Kovoor – who resigned as Principal of Trinity Theological College in the UK earlier this year after a Church of England report raised serious concerns about his management of the college. Are there others? Do they contribute anything to the Diocese, or is it just a nice badge that Albert Vun gives to his friends? Perhaps most importantly, where does this connection with the breakaway ACNA and it’s missionary division NAMS leave the Diocese’s historic links with the Diocese of Lichfield, with ACMS and with USPG? The Bishop cannot simply dismiss such questions as “unhelpful” when they go to the heart of the future of the Diocese and it’s relationship with the rest of the Anglican Communion.

  26. Labuan Observer

While in Labuan on 09.11.13 for the COHS Jubilee Hall’s consecration service, in his message to the congregation of Chinese/English/Bahasa with invited Labuan interchurch leaders and best of all the infamous “shaking head” by JY who again interpret into Bahasa, BAV spoke well of himself when he say that, as he travel to Singapore for treatment and as he is walking along the modern Changi airport arrival hall, he was so delightful to see many latest gadget, very expensive hand bag, branded high end products on display which he once desire so much but now cannot to have them all just because of his sickness with death may come soon. Disbelieve of his sickness, after all he continue to enjoy the privileges and expect the ADOS to pay for the cost, expect the whole ADOS to pray for him, expect the people to sympathize with him and expect the people to forget those questionable issues?

Vengeance is mine say the Lord (Roman 12:19).

    • Recalcitrant

I think the holy spirit has left AV and he lets Satan be in control of him.It can be seen by his actions against MC a God fearing man and now Labuan Observer tells us that AV is still as materialistic. He has the nerve to say he continues to enjoy all the privileges that he is entitled to.No wonder he brings an entourage to S’pore each time for his chemo and travels and spends lavishly. If he has only 2 months to live why waste diocese money to go for chemo which is useless to him now.He wants to suck diocese dry before he goes.Yet,he expects people to sympathise him and forget everything? By all those comments written in this blog,it can be seen that all feel pity, sad , sorry and even anger for this ‘God chosen one’ is now ” in Satan” rather than ” in Christ” although he keeps using God’s name in vain. How can we sympathise with him when he is so stubborn, unrepentant, full of vengeance , injustice ,hateful ,proud and full of self glory? Jesus said if a person remains a recalcitrant and refuses to listen ,don’t waste time on him, shake the dust from off your feet and evangelize to those who listen. In this case,AV does not want to listen to the advice of anybody because he is the bishop,so why waste time on him with our prayers? So many pray but AV remains defiant!

  27. Observer

I remembered two ex-clergy of ADOS had shared six years ago that they saw in a vision or dream that BAV was called to be with the Lord for a higher calling. They interpreted it as something to do with spiritual matter. They also saw in a vision that a senior clergy was also called by the Lord to asssist BAV in this new calling or ministry. So whatever is this revelation from the Lord is yet to be seen.

I also remembered in the scriptures, when king saul departed from God’s way, the Spirit was taken away from him and the evil spirit disturbed him. With the evil spirit, king saul often made an evil action. He even tried to kill his most loyal soldier and son in-law David. David had to flee for his life. But later king saul was killed or dead in a very disrespectful way. His body was hanged at the gate of one of the Philistine’s cities. God was no longer with him in a war against the enemy of God’s people.

So if BAV is acting on a fleshly decision against MC . . . than it must be the evil spirit disturbing him. MC please just be patient, who knows that God will raise you up like David to be the shepherd of God’s people in ADOS.

      • COGS - DNA

Don’t worried! We will put him (& family) up at Sabah Hotel (with breakfast and all main meals) with free WIFI, gym & swimming facilities.

  28. Not the Christian way, To Condemn a Brother-In-Christ

My brothers and sisters in Christ,

In trying trials and times such as this, believe in The Lord and pray for our many blessed fellow MC we must. Not judge and condemn a person appointed to be a Shepperd for His children, brother MC himself would advise us all in times like this.

Do away with all your anger, for that is the seed sowed by the Evil one. Instead, channel all your prayers and blessings to our blessed brother MC and his family, for indeed this will be one of the most difficult tests of his Faith. Brother MC, May your Anchor hold Sure n Steadfast in this storm!

  29. Chin Wei Yen

Dear BAV, HOB, DOS Standing Committee, Chancellor, Priests & Pastors,

I think many of us are completely unable to comprehend the latest decision made to revoke the archdeaconship of Rev. Moses. I poured out my grievences to my dear wife and she reminded me of 1 Corinthians 13.

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. for we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain; faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

I am not here to condemn. But your actions speak for itself. What is obvious to everyone is that our system of check and balance is not there. Whereby a mere man can destroy so much at his whim and leave everyone feeling so helpless is beyond comprehension. But it is good and timely that we learn this lesson now.

2 weeks ago when I attended service at St. Patrick’s Church in Tawau, I listened to Bishop John Yeo praising BAV about how much faith and vision this man have in establishing House of Prayer in Tawau, FCC in KL and now similarly the same in KK. What is the point if we have a man who has faith and hope but has no love?

    • joshuakong823

Chin WY wrote ” I listened to Bishop John Yeo praising BAV about how much faith and vision this man have in establishing House of Prayer in Tawau, FCC in KL and now similarly the same in KK.”

So likely MC was revoked as a Archdeacon because he may have not praised AVCF in the pulpit and can any vouch that when many claim that MC never talked bad about AVCF.

    • Not 9394.

      Bro. Chin Wei Yen,
Eloquently written & that sum up the very true characters of the our twin brothers Bishops.
ie. you cover me & I cover you.
JY told lies after lies without having to blink his eyes lid & do care to re-visit the video
recording on how he shook his head in ASC sanctuary during the so-called family dialogue.

  30. Focus

God has shown his wrath on Albert Vun, a man who is possessed by Satan’s spirit by causing him mad at making all the foolish decisions which will only backfire on himself.

Do members need to feel sad for Rev Moses Chin’s being revoked the appointment of Archdeacon? No, instead, we should feel happy because by the revocation , this dying man had made himself known to all his supporters what a treacherous man he is.

What we should do now is to dig out more evidences to convict him of  all the allegations against him, including the  embezzlement of huge church funds before he is interviewed by our God.

  31. Simon Templar

Moses Chin can sue the Bishop of Sabah for wrongful dismissal. He will definitely succeed in his suit. But what is important now is for the parishioners in all parishes to call a general meeting to pass a vote of no confidence in Bishop Albert Vun. You don’t need to involve the PCC. Anyone can initiate this and get the parishioners together for this. Regardless of what the diocesan constitution says, the parishioners come first. But it’s time to change the constitution after all this over and let’s have a bishop elected by the parishioners and not the House of Bishop.

    • joshuakong823

      Simon Templar,

Any general meeting not approved by the Dean/Parish priest/priest-in-charge or the Bishop cannot be held in the church compound. If held, the Bishop would just ignore the decision if ever taken. So the dilemma is no way out with the sort of ‘anointed’ by God is Satan in design now. The best is for MC to sue the Bishop for the downgrade and humiliation thereof as the ground for the downgrade is not known. Is any letter to that effect signed by AVCF? MC can claim vengeance, madness and recalcitrant on the part of AVCF who is working when supposed to be on medical leave for “cancer treatment”. The doctor concerned must be subpoena to be a witness in the trial.

      • Simon Templar

You can hold the meeting in Gaya street, the town padang, at the Tanjung Aru beach or anywhere else and you don’t need anyone’s approval as long as you are parishioners of your respective churches and you can establish this fact at the start of your meeting. Apparently, you’ve not heard of people’s power; in this case the power of the parishioners. The House of Bishops can’t ignore such public display of disenchantment with the bishop Albert Vun although it can choose to do so and suffer public ridicule and odium. The question is can anyone be able to mobilise like-minded parishioners all over Sabah? Such public censure of the bishop is now in order. Its ultimate result is not important.

    • Spin doctor catcher.

JY has mobilized his popularity campaign through Facebook and other social media since it was confirmed by the doctors that AV is diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. What good news is it to JY as he was just embarking on his trip to Kenya. If AV thinks this man as his successor will carry his banner, he will be gravely (no pun intended) disappointed. JY is an opportunist in the strongest sense of the word. When in power and if he feels the “troublemakers” are channelling their attention to him, he will use any means to appease them even to the extent of discrediting AV’s previous decisions and projects. As a final winning card, he may even allow a full audit of the accounts to show documented wrongdoings of AV so that it will make him look like the good guy. Watch this dangerous man very closely and do not be misled by him. Albert Vun, hopefully you are reading this post also because when you are gone, he will promote his own agenda and not yours. Your true Ygor is not him but rather Chak.

      Dear KK,
John Yeo should never be the next Bishop of Sabah. This guy is more cunning, a very smooth & slippery orator, manipulative,
scheming, a great pretender, liar, a great actor & a great hypocrite.
ADOS will be finished if John Yeo becomes the next Bishop of Sabah.

We the Members of the Anglican Churches in the Diocese of Sabah hereby REVOKED the appointment of Mr. Albert Vun cheong fui as the Bishop of Sabah effective 2 Dec 2013. We will fill this position as soon as we get a suitable & able clergyman.

  33. BAV's friend

Today is BAV’s birthday, and very likely his last. I hope he truly experiences the presence of God and hear from Him. I hope he treasures everyday he has and use the little precious time he has to do God’s will, not his own agenda; to do good, not evil; to bring joy not sorrow; to unite not divide; to forgive not to seek vengeance; to seek forgiveness not covering his tracks; to humble himself, not to boast about whatever he perceives as achievements.

Of course Moses C. have a strong case if he chooses to goes to the Labour Department to complain about his case. If the matter goes to Industrial Court,he will have a strong case either for reinstatement or compensation for loss of office. It is trite law and well known in industrial court cases that when a person is away on leave as MC was, no disciplinary action can be taken against him or her. The employer or company will have to wait until he or she comes back from leave before any disciplinary action can be taken. Again, such disciplinary action can be taken only after a domestic inquiry have been held and he or she is found guilty of the charge(s) against him or her. The way I see it in this case, BAV have jumped the gun by down grading MC without going through such industrial process.

The question we must be asking, though the answer is obvious, is who is now dictating terms to the dying swan? Before the appointment of the new bishop in 2006, big time behind the scenes negotiations must have taken place. The whole process was a sham as it was obvious who was going to be appointed. But to be fair, dying swan was the best choice. There was no other close enough to rival him! So it is a matter of great sadness because of what’s happened. It is a very sad end indeed but these last seven “lean” years has exposed the deep malaise in the diocese long before dying swan came on the scene. In fact, things were so bad that two very senior clergy threatened to resign. Another resigned and set up GCC.
I believe that God is wanting to teach each and everyone of us to “let go and let God”. This cancer has taught us admist shock and disbelief that God is unmistakably God. Have we learnt this lesson?
It is possible that Moses Chin’s “demotion” if one can call it that (note in the past other archdeacons have been terminated notably Canon Fred David) may well be an attempt to exclude him from the selection commitee to be set up once the see is declared vacant. It could be the court of Julius Ceasar, could it not? Is an ambitious assistant bishop plotting? May be.
In the 70s, Rev Luke Chhoa from St Paul’s Penang became the unlikely candidate for the see of Sabah. A petition was signed by many to stop him “because he is evangelical”. Tun Mustapha denied him a work pass. He had to be consecrated in Lambeth Palace. The rest (cliched I know) is history. Bishop Chhoa was instrumental in bringing the only real revival by making the diocese Evangelical, sending candidates to SBC and encouraging evangelism and priortising the Bible. This might have been the only time God was given a free hand.
BAV and his inner circle should learn to fear God and let God be God. The next bishop does not have to be from Sabah. One candidate that should be considered is the astonishing Rev Dr Andrew Cheah, the sub-dean of St Mary’s Cathedral KL. He has transformed St Mary’s, is properly educated, good preacher and great PR. May be its time for another bishop from West Malaysia to step into Luke’s shoes.
The HOB should, after the BAV debacle, submit to God. It would be unwise for either of the current assistant bishop to ascend to the Cathedra, being badly tainted. Even the Bank of England has appointed a North American (Canadian I think) to head the bank because out of 65 Millions, none qualified. So let’s set our sights higher and believe God for the best. A new dawn beckons.
A Prayer: God, the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, have your way in the appointment of the new bishop of Sabah. As you led your servant Archbishop Michael Ramsey to appoint Luke to the See of Sabah, so may Archbishop Bolly Lapok be similarly led. Amen.

  35. God,s sheep

This most evil of evil BAV and good for nothing except blundering God’s money to enrich himself and his cronies. Thie eoe man will try his very best to empty every cents that the ADOS has and to bribe all his close cronies to cover his every evil deeds now and after his death soon to come. I sincerely urge those BAV cronies to search your conscience if you still have one go before God to repent less you get what BAV had gotten, think what will happen to your families. Don,t play play with God unless you wanted to follow BAV also so that you can continue to recieve all the benefits from him in where ever the Lord will decde to send the lots of you. Wake up you cannot FIGHT GOD and His sheep. God has ask you to take care of his sheep, but you divide them and destroy His Church. ADOS is no longer a Church of God but a place where a group of evil robbers, liers destroyer of unity of God,s sheep. This is why they have to get rid of MC because they think he is the last stumbling.

  36. Where is the godly shepherd !

    What is Godly Leadership?

Jesus tells us the Godly leader serves others and takes the lowest seat at a feast. He doesn’t seek status or fulfilment of his own desires. He doesn’t seek recognition for his acts but lets the acts speak for themselves and tries instead to love, honor and serve GOD, as revealed in the person of Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. And, as Jesus and Moses commanded, he seeks to love others as much as he loves himself. He doesn’t seek to rule anything, doesn’t insist on having authority over others or the works in which he participates. He knows that all authority has been given to Jesus and that the leader has authority only to the extent he lives in Jesus.

A Godly leader accepts weaker members of the body and helps them along the way. In fact, Godly leaders are not completed (perfect) people either. They, too, fall short of the glory of GOD and what he wants, but that doesn’t stop them from pushing ahead in response to his call. When a group climbs a mountain, they rope themselves together. They move at the speed of the slowest person, dictating that the stronger help the weaker if greater speed is wanted. Godly leaders don’t reject dysfunctional members of Jesus’ body. They try to help those people become healthy, mature, functional members– members who unselfishly love others, involve themselves in the work of the kingdom and prepare to become leaders themselves.

A Warning from God to ungodly leaders:
    Jeremiah 23:1-4

“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” declares the Lord. Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my people: “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord. Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply. I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord.

Oh No! Why are we having so many counterfeit bishops in our diocese, one even worse than the other and then they claimed it as being anointed by God leading the sheep astray. We pray the next bishop must be God fearing and only takes care of the sheep and let a trust worthy committee look after the church finance.

  38. Ham Jian Piang

How is it possible that we end up with a bishop that dont love the bride of Christ ? I really can not phantom.

      The Truth,
Since the down grading of MC as Archdeacon has become such an issue here, I hope for the information of those brothers and sisters in Christ, whether you can let us know the organization chart of ADOS so that we can have some idea what the position of Archdeacon,Assistant bishop, Dean, Chancellor, etc. feature in the ADOS organization. Thanks.

      • aljc

BAV is a very sick man. Even in his dying days he revoke MC as Archdeacon. When he died in office, the most senior Archdeacon will assume office as Vicar General until a Bishop is elected and consecrated.
BAV is afraid that MC will reveal all the documents relating to accounts of DOS and the truth will be told.
        What a sick man.

      • 1030

The organization chart of ADOS you got today will probably be different in next few weeks. It’s pointless to ask for it. One thing for sure the top 2 positions are still BAV. For how long? Only God knows.

  39. Ex Anglican

    aljc
Thank you for this information. It is very crystal clear to all the reason why MC was removed as the Archdeacon, which is a very senior position in the ADOS hierarchy. For all we know, he could be the next Bishop if he is the Christ Anointed One!

    WHO IS JOHN SHULER?????????????
I was shocked when I noticed what has AV did in this hour. Is the cancer cells begins to spread all over his mind and came out he act like a SATAN.
At the very beginning, I’m hardly to accept so many Anglicans member continue to pray and care of AB’s health. Every cells group, Sunday services, gatherings, everybody not forget to pray for AV. Archdeacon Moses Chin always lead to pray for AV, and I learned of forgiveness and love of God from Archd. Moses. We give AV chance, we forgive and we hope AV continue to serve well… and now, what is happening to AV’s stupid mind and actions.
I wonder if God allows me to pray for not to cure AV’s health?

Archdeacon Moses, God is with you and we always here to support you. We know you are a good leader and a good priest. Don’t give up. Let’s member of COGS stand up and voice out for our Archdeacon.

    • Mad Sailor

Shuler heads up the New Anglican Missionary Society, part of the conservative breakaway movement from The Episcopal Church in the US. They operate primarily in the US setting up church plants as an alternative network to the established Anglican Church. A close associate of Archbishop Moses Tay, he was instrumental in arranging the “Singapore Conscrations” in 2000, when the Archbishop – shortly before his retirement – consecrated two American priests Rev’d Charles H. Murphy III and the Rev’d John H. Rogers Jr to serve as Bishops in the breakaway Anglican Church of North America (it was reported that Shuler was also offered, but turned down, a bishopric).
The subsequent archbishops seem to have sensibly distanced themselves from ACNA, but obviously BAV remains supportive. This would appear to be the Bishop honouring one of Moses Tay’s friends and allies in appreciation of his time as Commissary.

  41. Rev

    Dear Rev. Moses Chin,
During this time , just remember in how Yahweh commanded Moses in the Old Testament, ” And Moses said unto Elohim, Who am I that I should go unto Pharaoh and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And He said, certainly I will be thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve Elohim upon this mountain. And Moses said unto Elohim, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The Elohim of your fathers hath sent me, What is His name? what shall I say unto them?. And Elohim said unto Moses, AYAH-ASHER-AYAH. And He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I WILL BE hath sent me unto you.” [Exodus 3:11-14] Please read these verses and What God want you to do for His Glory in your life. Who is the Pharaoh in our Church today? Who is the children of Yahweh in our Church today? Who is Moses in our present days? May God continue to give you guidance and burden to save people from the slavery of sins. “NEVER REGRET, NEVER RETREAT,TILL DEATH NO POWER CAN SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF CHRIST”. “ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH EVEN THOUGH YOU MAY LOSE YOUR OWN LIFE BECAUSE OF HIS NAME”.

We are in now in the Advent season, why don’t we take time to reflect what we have done in year 2013, and make some resolutions what we are to do for year 2014. This is also the time to show forgiveness and share God’s love with others. instead of doing something that is not pleasing to God. How I wish that we can all show forgiveness to a sick person and probably let him go in peace. May God’s peace and love fill all our hearts and souls. God bless us all.

    • Rev

Dear, sll, we always forgive him but he never admit of his wrongdoings and keeping commit sins. What is happening to himself and later on to his family members – beyond our knowledge and power but one thing for sure that we should know that GOD is not ‘dead’, He is not a ‘deaf’ but know everything and will never set free a person without unpunished of his crimes against GOD. No body can bribe GOD! Let HIM do HIS justice!

  43. Sad very sad

Sorry sll, It is not up to us to forgive or not, it is up to the God. This evil man (BAV) did not sin against us but against the very God that all of us believe. We never ask nor pray that he will befall with cancer (whether it is true or not he is suffering from pancreatic cancer only God’s know as he have been lying to God in his Sanctuary, what else he dare not lie). All this while we have merely pointed out his sins against God to BAV but he refuse to repent before God. What can we do? I will not be surprise that the next moment he will come around to tell us that he is completely heal of cancer. My friends and I can never trust this liar any more. Sad very sad.
